Another Cowardly Attack on Children: Kiev Strikes Youth Center in Russia’s Kherson Region, Governor Says
Following the deadly New Year’s terrorist attack in Kherson, which targeted civilians—including children—Kiev carried out another strike overnight on a youth center, Vladimir Saldo said.
“And once again, a cowardly attack was carried out during a holiday against a purely civilian facility intended for children and youth,” he stated, as Orthodox faithful in Russia are preparing to celebrate Christmas on January 7.
Thankfully no casualties were reported, the governor noted.
Details:
▪Last night, three low-flying drones carrying powerful explosives approached from the Sea of Azov;
▪Two were shot down by air defenses;
▪One hit the grounds of a center for gifted children and creative youth, damaging administrative buildings and residential cottages.
This latest incident follows a deadly drone strike on New Year’s night, when civilians celebrating the holiday were targeted. The attack killed 27 people—including two minors—and injured more than 50. Authorities have opened a criminal investigation and have classified that attack as terrorism.
