US Operation in Venezuela is 'Most Brutal Sort of Naked Form of Authoritarianism': Activist
The US operation in Venezuela is driven by a desire to control the world’s largest oil reserves, Phakamile Hlubi-Majola, National Union of Metalworkers South Africa, told Sputnik Africa.
She stressed that all progressive and pro-democracy forces must unite to condemn the US actions and show solidarity with Venezuela, acting as a “moral voice” and “moral barometer” to expose the situation.
BRICS should take a strong stance, particularly given its role in recent year, Hlubi-Majola added, arguing that the group must act decisively given its role over the past two to three years.
While the speaker emphasized that non-military solutions are preferable to solve the situation around Venezuela, she warned that military responses should not be ruled out if pressures escalate.
