Zimbabwean Suspected Serial Killer Arrested in Guruve After Weeks-Long Manhunt

The arrest of 32-year-old Anymore Zvitsva, following a weeks-long manhunt involving security forces and local villagers, ended a tense period for the area. Zvitsva was shot in the left leg while cornered in a garden, concluding a pursuit that had gripped the district since December.

‍ Zvitsva was captured in a joint operation by the Zimbabwe Republic Police and the Zimbabwe National Army and is now receiving medical treatment under police guard. While in custody, he confessed to five murders. Authorities said he will be formally charged after his hospital discharge, with multiple counts of murder, attempted murder, and rape expected.

Authorities praised the Guruve community and the public for providing crucial information that aided the manhunt, which involved:
