🟠Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory message to Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, Chairman of Sudan’s Sovereign Council, on the occasion of Sudan’s 70th anniversary of independence, the council said on social media;

🟠Three drones struck a café and hotel in the Kherson Region, killing 24 people and injuring more than 50, according to regional Governor Vladimir Saldo. A criminal case on a terrorist act has been opened, the Russian Investigative Committee’s spokeswoman confirmed to Sputnik;

🟠Somalia expressed “profound appreciation” to the international community for its support of the country’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity following Israel’s recognition of Somaliland, the Somali Ministry of Foreign Affairs said;

🟠Russia is counting on its own strength, Putin stated, congratulating citizens on the arrival of 2026 in his New Year address broadcast nationwide just before midnight local time;

🟠A historic 150-year-old church in Amsterdam was destroyed by fire, local media reported. The blaze, which began in the early hours of Thursday, rapidly engulfed the structure, leaving the monument a total loss with no possibility of restoration.
