Strategic sites for new integrated agro-processing industrial parks across the country have been selected, the Ethiopian Ministry of Industry announced.
The new sites have been based on the experiences of the fully completed integrated agro-processing parks in Bure, Bulbula, and Yirgalem.
The government, giving special attention to the manufacturing industry, has spent over 36 billion birr ($232 million) to complete infrastructures, the ministry announced at the investment forum held in Addis Ababa.
The main objectives of constructing the parks:

Ethiopia will reportedly focus on making domestic products competitive in the international market by utilizing the African Continental Free Trade Area agreement that it is implementing.
