Maiden Flight Complete: Russia’s Homegrown Mi-34M1 Soars, Rostec Says

Rostec’s “Russian Helicopters” holding has launched flight tests of the Mi-34M1 light single-engine multipurpose helicopter, featuring:

🟠Russian-made VK-650V turboshaft engine;

🟠Modern onboard systems of domestic production;

🟠10-minute maiden flight, testing stability, controllability, and component loads.

“Another milestone for Russian aviation—proof that Russia knows how and can build a wide variety of aircraft,” said Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov.

Designed for passenger transport, monitoring, flight training, and air sports, the Mi-34M1 will replace costly and often unsafe foreign models previously dominating this segment, according to Rostec.
