Zimbabwe to Add 400 MW Through Hwange Power Plant Upgrade: Report Zimbabwe will expand its electricity supply with a $455 million refurbishment of ageing units at the Hwange coal-fired power plant, a Western news agency reported, citing an update. The project follows a 15-year concession agreement with an Africa-focused unit of India’s Jindal Steel, approved by cabinet in September and signed in December.“The 15-year agreement with Jindal will lead to enhanced power generation, which will add 400 MW to our output within the next 48 months,” reportedly said ZESA acting CEO Cletus Nyachowe, noting that rehabilitation work is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2026.Subscribe to @sputnik_africa Sputnik Africa | X
