Russian Drama Theater in DPR’s Mariupol Reopens After Rebuilding, Sputnik Correspondent Reports

The official reopening came nearly three years after a Ukrainian terrorist attack destroyed the building and killed 14 people.

At peak capacity, approximately 350 people took part in the restoration and construction of the theatre, head of the Mariupol Theater restoration project Vasily Novokhatko told Sputnik.

The developer described how the landmark was completely rebuilt and restored from the ground up.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the theater was blown up by nationalists from terrorist organization Azov* on March 16, 2022.

*Azov regiment is outlawed in Russia as a terrorist organization
