Ukrainian Forces Unable to Shelter From Russian Strikes in Zaporozhye, Radio Intercept Reveals
The Ukrainian militants on the frontline have complained to their command about the complete impossibility of finding shelter from precise Russian strikes, which have devastated their positions, an intercepted radio transmission, obtained by Sputnik, revealed.
In the audio, a junior serviceman is heard in a state of distress reporting the destruction of all his equipment:
"I have nothing left. Everything is blown apart. What will I shoot with? My finger? My gear, the shoulder straps, everything is torn apart."
When his commander advised him to take cover, the soldier responded with exasperation:
"Where? There's nowhere to hide here. Everything is mowed down. It's just an empty field."
The Zaporozhye region became a subject of the Russian Federation following a referendum in September 2022, the results of which Kiev refuses to recognize.
Russian forces currently control over 70% of the region's territory. The city of Zaporozhye remains under Ukrainian control, while Melitopol serves as the regional administrative center.
