Russia's Role Is Indispensable in Advancing Africa's Role in Global Institutions: Ethiopian Diplomat
As the world undergoes various shifts, Africa seeks to forge strategic partnerships with countries that respect and protect its sovereignty, member of Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and Peace Affairs of the House of People's Representatives Dina Mufti told Sputnik Africa.
"This partnership has been dormant for a long time; it is historical and fruitful. I believe this summit provides an opportunity to further strengthen the relations between Africa and Russia at the center of the agendas it addresses," he noted on the sidelines of the Russia-Africa Ministerial Conference in Cairo.
Support from countries like the Russia becomes crucial, the speaker said.
"In UN reforms, particularly expanding the Security Council to include African and Global South nations, Russia's support is extremely vital for advancing Africa's agendas," Mufti stressed.
Russia can also chart Africa's economic and infrastructural development path, he noted:

🟠by providing technologies for Africa.
"Russia can play a role in Africa's development, strength, and independence," the ambassador said.
