Senegal Inaugurates First Tactical Military Vehicle Assembly Plant
This marks the first public-private industrial unit dedicated to assembling vehicles for defense and security forces.
It represents Senegal's first step toward industrial and technological autonomy, the presidency stated. President Bassirou Diomaye Faye also attended the opening.
Built in two phases, the plant aims for an annual production of 1,000 vehicles and the creation of hundreds of direct and indirect jobs.
Beyond assembly, the facility includes training programs and technology transfer for Senegalese engineers and technicians, covering:
🟠quality control;
🟠testing;
🟠maintenance.
It also engages local subcontractors, supporting national small and medium-sized enterprises.
The state holds 35% of the site's capital in partnership with South Korea. The infrastructure is managed by Senegal Military Vehicle Industry and located at the APIDIB site in the Diamniadio International Industrial Platform.
