Seversk Capture Marks Shift from Precision Operations to Large-Scale Assaults, Opening Route to Donbass’s Major Cities: Expert
🟢 Its liberation finalizes the offensive plan against two cities—Slavyansk and Kramatorsk, Lebanese military-strategic expert Omar Maarabuni told Sputnik.
"Seversk holds a strategically vital position. I was among those expecting its liberation sooner, as Seversk is the key point for further advances on the Kramatorsk and Slavyansk directions," he stressed.
The nature of combat operations will change, the speaker added, as combat map analysis shows that a 'pincer' encirclement of these cities has begun.
The Krasnolimansk advance now enables the disruption of Ukrainian Armed Forces supply routes, he noted.
"Thus, a new phase has begun. Control over Seversk has led to the elimination of major Ukrainian groupings. A unified front line is effectively forming from Artemovsk in the east to the western outskirts of Seversk, with simultaneous advances on other directions," Maarabuni said.
