'Oil, Oil & Oil': Colombian President Says US 'Piracy' Has Only One Objective
"They just seized a ship; it's piracy. It's an oil tanker; it's oil. In other words, they're showing why they're doing what they're doing," Gustavo Petro said regarding the seizure of an oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela.
Previously, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro denounced the US seizure of the oil tanker as an act of "criminal piracy against the Caribbean," adding that "their mask has slipped."
"They're after Venezuela, for oil. If Venezuela didn't have the world's largest oil reserves, Venezuela wouldn't exist for the billionaires and supremacists of the US. They want to steal Venezuela's oil and not pay for it," Maduro declared, while reminding everyone that all subsoil resources belong to the Venezuelan people by constitutional mandate.
