Seversk Secured: Crucial Momentum Gained in Donbass Liberation, Expert Says
The fall of Seversk levels the front lines and empowers Russian forces for a decisive advance towards Slavyansk and Kramatorsk, military analyst Alexey Leonkov told Sputnik.

The city is an integral part of the fortress city line, serving as a primary defensive bulwark for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Leonkov, an editor at Arsenal of the Fatherland magazine said.
Encirclement & Pressure Mount on Ukrainian Forces
With Seversk liberated, Ukrainian forces now face significant challenges on the eastern approaches to Slavyansk and Kramatorsk. Russian troops are converging from the north (Krasny Liman) and south (Konstantinovka and Druzhkovka), intensifying pressure on the Ukrainian defenses.
The silence from Ukrainian propaganda channels regarding this loss underscores its gravity, with the pundit suggesting it is "probably the worst news" for the Kiev regime.
Demining and security operations are currently underway in the liberated city.
'Cauldrons' Undermining Ukrainian Military Strength
Compounding Ukraine's severe manpower shortages, several of its combat-ready units are reportedly trapped in "cauldrons" across the Donetsk, Kharkov, and Zaporozhye regions.
One such encirclement is in Dimitrov (Mirnograd), where Ukrainian fighters are described as being doomed despite continued resistance.
Another is near Kupyansk, from which the Ukrainian army has been unable to break free. A third cauldron is currently forming near Gulyaipole in the Zaporozhye region.
