'New Era in Solar Power:' Zambia to Launch $900 Mln Projects to Strengthen Energy Security
AMSONS Group, a Tanzanian and pan-African energy and industrial company, will partner with Zambia’s Exergy Africa Limited on the building of new power projects, AMSONS CEO Edha Nahdi noted at the signing of the partnership agreement.
The new facilities, he added, will also:
🟠support Zambia's development;
🟠foster industrial expansion;
🟠strengthen cross-border energy cooperation;
🟠ensure power stability.
"In 24 months, the full complement of 300 MW of coal and the entire 1,000 MW of clean solar will have been installed, effectively moving Zambia into a surplus power generation status," Zambian Energy Minister Makozo Chikote added.
Zambia welcomes these private investments as proof that its multi-source energy strategy is delivering results, with public and private players driving growth together, he noted.
