These Three African Nations Rank as Top Performers on New Africa Prosperity Rating

The Africa Prosperity Rating (APR), published by the IMD World Competitiveness Center, evaluates all 54 African nations across economic, governance, and societal indicators.

Africa's Leading Economies:

Mauritius: Leads with near-universal financial access (90.5%) and deep capital markets.

Seychelles: Boasts the continent's highest Human Development Index score of 0.802.

South Africa: Maintains strong financial sophistication, with stock market capitalization at 289% of GDP.

Other strong performers include Botswana, Cabo Verde, Egypt, Kenya, Namibia, and Tunisia, credited with solid institutions and significant investment in education.

The APR identified four key drivers for future prosperity: governance quality, economic diversification, societal empowerment, and macroeconomic stability.

The report urged investment in education and digital infrastructure to harness Africa's young population, positioning initiatives like the AfCFTA as crucial for turning growth into inclusive development.
