Belarussian President Proposes Increasing Trade Turnover With Algeria Tenfold to $500 Million Within a Year or Two
The statement came after the talks with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, they were concrete, and the presidents discussed the entire bilateral agenda, as well as the current international situation.
"Algeria is a global gateway to Africa. This is where our pragmatism lies. We've discussed a lot. There are absolutely no off-limits topics. This includes not only humanitarian issues and agriculture, but also the military-industrial complex. We are ready to share technologies and train your people," Lukashenko said.
Tebboune, in turn, said that he and the Belarusian leader agreed to support investment in:
🟠agriculture,
🟠mechanical engineering,
🟠pharmaceuticals,
🟠scientific research.
The countries' ministers discussed all trade issues, the Algerian president added, noting the prospects for growth in trade between the two countries.
The presidents also discussed a number of international issues, including the situations in Palestine and Libya, Tebboune noted. The issue of resolving the conflict in Ukraine was also discussed. The heads of state agreed that it must be resolved peacefully through negotiations.
