Ghanaian Media Professionals Engage in SputnikPro Session on Cross-Media Collaboration
Organized in collaboration with the Russian Embassy in Ghana and the Ghana-Russia Centre for Commerce and Relations (GRCCR), the event provided a valuable opportunity for the exchange of knowledge, the generation of ideas, and the cultivation of stronger connections between media organizations in both countries.
Cross-border media collaboration enhances news engagement and diversity, aligning with audience expectations for a vibrant media landscape, Vasily Pushkov, Director of International Cooperation at Rossiya Segodnya, said.
"The role of journalists is vital, as the way they present information can determine whether Russia-Africa relations are perceived through the lens of truth or misconception," Natalya Muzhennikova, Counsellor at the Russian Embassy in Ghana, stated.
Cross-media collaboration means understanding each medium's strengths, sharing skills, mutual learning, and pushing storytelling boundaries via discussions and workshops, Ziona Ayorkor Holm, Head of Business Development and Innovations at GRCCR.
The session sparked lively engagement, with Ghanaian journalists posing numerous questions on the nuances of Russian journalism and opportunities for joint ventures.
