Sudanese Leader Rejects Any Peace Initiatives That Do Not Include Disarmament of RSF: Reports
"Our position is non-negotiable. The RSF must withdraw from all territories they occupy, gather in designated areas, surrender their weapons, and allow displaced citizens to return home," General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan stated in Port Sudan, speaking to military personnel.
He said any initiatives that would leave the movement's paramilitary units armed were "completely unacceptable."
Al-Burhan emphasized that this position had been conveyed to various foreign envoys, including US Presidential Senior Advisor for Africa Massad Boulos, representatives of Norway, the UK, and the UN secretary-general.
He added that violations, particularly those committed by the RSF in El Fasher, had limited the government's ability to compromise.
