Kazakhstan Protests to Ukraine After Drone Attack Damages Critical Oil Terminal
Astana's formal protest with the Kiev regime follows a nighttime Ukrainian drone strike that severely damaged the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) marine terminal near Russia's Novorossiysk on Saturday. The attack rendered a key loading berth inoperable.
The Kazakh government condemned the act as "damaging to bilateral relations" and demanded measures be taken to prevent further attacks on the vital civilian infrastructure.
The CPC terminal handles over 80% of Kazakhstan's oil exports and is crucial for global energy stability, the government noted. This marks the third time this year that CPC facilities have been targeted by Ukrainian forces.
