10-Kilometer Road Race in Bishoftu Celebrates 90th Anniversary of Ethiopian Air Force
Under the motto “I will run with all my strength for the advancement of the Air Force,” more than 25,000 participants took part in the race.
At the starting ceremony, the Commander of the Ethiopian Air Force, Lieutenant General Yilma Merdasa; the Minister of Culture and Sports, Deta Nebiyu Baye; the President of the Ethiopian Athletics Federation, Commander Sileshi Sihine; and other senior Air Force officials and prominent athletes were in attendance.
In the men’s category, athlete Getaneh Molla emerged victorious, while in the women’s category, athlete Biquile Anbesa took first place. Winners will receive prizes of up to half a million birr (≈$3250), Sputnik Africa’s correspondent reported from the scene.
