Mozambican President Praises 'Outstanding Work' of Rwandan Forces in Fight Against Terrorist Insurgency
Daniel Chapo visited the deployment positions of the Rwandan security forces in the Ancuabe district of Mozambique's conflict-affected Cabo Delgado province, the Rwandan military announced.
"Continue working together with your brothers here, as no development can be achieved without peace and security," Chapo stated.
His visit comes amid ongoing counterinsurgency operations against extremist groups. Despite military gains, the security situation remains challenging as the volatile environment continues to exacerbate humanitarian needs and recruitment risks for terrorists.
Approximately 128,000 people recently fled their homes in the northern Nampula province, following renewed attacks in November, according to recent UN data.
