Wounded Russian Paratrooper Credits Family for Helping Him Survive Assault in SMO Zone

The soldier sustained multiple gunshot wounds during an assault on Ukrainian positions near Chasov Yar, he shared with Sputnik in an interview.

"The main thing that kept me going was my family—my wife and my three children," the soldier said.

Despite the injuries, the soldier continued fighting after self-administering first aid. He later underwent eleven months of medical treatment.

"Of course the mission was completed," he stated. "The Motherland gave us the mission, and we have to carry it out no matter what."
