Mozambique Secures 30-Year Control Over Its LNG Infrastructure Operations
The government has granted a 30-year concession to a consortium of state-owned companies.
The concession covers three main asset groups:
An LNG terminal at the port of Beira (floating storage and regasification unit, plus receiving and storage facilities);
The energy infrastructure at Inhassoro, Inhambane Province;
The ROMPCO pipeline (865 km) connecting Mozambique to South Africa.
A new public entity will be established to oversee the entire project. This entity will subsequently select technical and financial partners to ensure the development and operation of the assets.
Objective: consolidate under a single structure all operations, from LNG receipt to delivery to markets.
