Senegal Sees GDP Increase, Improves Debt Figures Due to Recalculation
The GDP recalculation using an updated base year revealed new data for 2021, following the adjustment of the metrics, Senegalese National Agency for Statistics and Demography (NASD) reported, as quoted by Western media.
The 2021 GDP of Senegal has been revised upward to 17,316 billion CFA francs, representing a 13.5% increase compared to the previous numbers. In addition, the public debt for the same year has been adjusted to 80%, down from the earlier figure of 90.8%, it noted.
