Guinea-Bissau Military Announces Creation of Military Command to Control the Country
The military is suspending the constitution and the ongoing electoral process until conditions are favorable for a return to normality, a representative of the army said in a televised address.
The development comes after the presidential election held on November 23, with results expected on the 27th of this month. Both outgoing President Embalo, who has reportedly been arrested by the military, and his main competitor have claimed victory in the election.
