Tanzania Accelerates Expansion of Vocational Training to Boost Youth Skills Development
The government plans to have at least 145 fully operational colleges by 2026 to equip young people with practical skills critical for the country's growing economy, board member of the Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) Abdulhamad Masai said.
"This initiative is part of our strategy to produce skilled professionals for different sectors," he noted at the graduation ceremony in one of the VETA colleges.
Among the numerous courses available, there also are:
Motor vehicle mechanics;
Food production;
Secretarial & computer application;
Information and communication technology.
Tanzania currently runs 80 VETA colleges across the country, and an additional 65 centers are under construction.
