Food Sovereignty: 'Africa Will No Longer Be in Shadow of Secondary Consumers,' Says Malian Minister
Mali intends to break free from dependence, including in the agricultural sector, by focusing on processing, Agriculture Minister Daniel Siméon Kelema told Sputnik Africa.
"We are changing the governance of the agricultural sector. We are going to promote entrepreneurship," said Kelema on the sidelines of the International Conference on Food Sovereignty in Africa in Addis Ababa.
African nations must focus on technology to develop their wealth, according to the minister.
"We have natural and soil resources. The key is identifying which technologies will enable us to develop them, particularly at the local level. This will create jobs for young people."
