#viral | Vietnam Floods Kill 55 as Devastation Spreads Across Central Regions
Severe flooding in central Vietnam has claimed at least 55 lives, with 13 people still missing. Dozens of settlements remain cut off after roads were washed away and landslides isolated entire areas.
More than 28,000 homes have been fully or partially submerged, leaving thousands without shelter as thick silt and structural damage render many buildings uninhabitable. Economic losses have already surpassed $340 million.
Rivers are slowly receding but remain dangerously high, and new rains threaten further flooding and landslides.
Agriculture has suffered catastrophic damage: 80,000 hectares of crops are underwater, and farmers report the loss of over 30,000 animals and birds.
Online videos even show cows seeking refuge on rooftops to escape the rising waters.
