Drones Cut Accident Report Time From Hours to Minutes in Burkinabe Capital: Security Ministry
The technological innovation was demonstrated at the Tampouy roundabout in Ouagadougou by the national police, the Burkinabé Ministry of Security said in a statement.
“Thanks to this technological tool, the time required to complete an accident report has been reduced from several tens of minutes to 5 to 10 minutes, while providing precise topographical mapping of the accident site,” the statement read.
Moreover, this system will enhance the safety of officers, who are often exposed to the risk of secondary accidents during road marking, noted Mahamadou Sana, Minister of Security.
The national police will soon launch a pilot phase in Ouagadougou. If results are satisfactory, the technology will be gradually rolled out to all police stations across Burkina Faso.
