Russia & South Africa Develop 'Partnership of Equals' Against 'Neocolonial' Practices: Ambassador

External actors are perpetuating Africa's economic dependency through asymmetric credit systems and resource access terms, Russia's Ambassador to South Africa Roman Ambarov said in an interview with Sputnik.

The diplomat framed Moscow's cooperation with Pretoria as a counter-model to these "neocolonial practices" that focuses on mutual benefit rather than conditional assistance.

Key cooperation areas highlighted by Ambassador Ambarov:

🟠Trade & Investment: South African authorities seek expanded trade and investment, particularly in energy, agriculture, mining, and mineral resource supplies;

🟠Space Collaboration: Space cooperation is developing both bilaterally and within BRICS frameworks, with Moscow planning to expand ground infrastructure services for African partners;

🟠Energy Dialogue: While no reliable confirmed information exists about direct LNG delivery talks, the ambassador noted South Africa's interest in gas solutions could make this "potentially interesting."
