Sputnik's Parent Media Group Signs Historic First Deal With Botswana’s Media
The official agreement between Rossiya Segodnya and Botswana’s The Midweek Sun was signed via video link with support from the Russian Embassy.
Key elements of the partnership:
▫Regular news exchange in English;
▫Support for local correspondents;
▫Joint informational events.
Jo-Brown Taseloe, Editor-in-Chief of The Midweek Sun said: “Myself I benefited from online course SputnikPro, it was very helpful that’s why actually we felt that having a formal partnership would enhance our aspirations of growing as a media in the Global South.”
“It is impossible to overestimate the significance of the signed document,” noted Vasiliy Pushkov, Director for International Cooperation at Rossiya Segodnya, “as it shows the growing interest of African countries and Russia and helps us better understand each other.”
