Bimodal Voter Accreditation System Ends Multiple Voting in Nigeria’s Elections, Supports Democracy Foundations, Official Says

“The BVAS device has become our frontline defense against identity fraud, ensuring that only the rightful, eligible voter can be accredited at the polling unit," the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Joash Amupitan stated.

A total of 6,879 BVAS devices deployed for the Anambra Governorship election performed excellently, with over 99% of polling unit results successfully uploaded to the INEC Result Viewing portal on election day, he stressed.

“The gains we have recorded are too significant to reverse,” Amupitan added.
