Madagascar Outlines Six Steps to Build New Republic
The planned reforms respond to the collective will to break with past crises and build a just, stable, sustainable, and fully legitimate country, said President Michael Randrianirina.
He identified the following key areas of development necessary for the transition:
🟠Restore trust between the state and its citizens;
🟠Strengthen governance and transparency;
🟠Intensify the fight against corruption;
🟠Guarantee the republican nature of the responsibilities of the armed forces;
🟠Draft the fundamental texts that will govern the new Republic;
🟠Organize a constitutional referendum, followed by free and fair elections recognized by all.
