Nigeria's Outlook Shifts to 'Positive' From 'Stable' as National Reforms Yield Results, S&P Says

The agency upgraded Nigeria’s position on Friday, adjusting the sovereign credit ratings status to а "B-/B" score.

"The monetary, economic, and fiscal reforms being implemented by Nigerian authorities will yield positive benefits over the medium term," S&P noted in a statement.

The effect of President Bola Tinubu’s reforms is evident in several key areas, according to the S&P rating:

🟠notable improvement in external, fiscal, economic, and monetary indicators;

🟠guiding these indicators onto a more positive and stable trajectory.
