How Award-Winning African App is Breaking Barriers for Deaf
A young Kenyan engineer has won an international prize for developing an AI-powered technology that enables communication for millions of people with hearing disabilities in Africa.

#AfricanCurrents spoke with Elly Savatia, founder and CEO of Signvrse, about the vision behind the Nairobi-made app, its AI-driven 3D sign-language avatars, and how local innovation is opening education, healthcare, and daily communication to communities long excluded. This episode is a true definition of empathy pushing technology toward real change.
