“I firmly believe that this opens a new chapter in our longstanding bilateral relations,” Belete Molla, Ethiopia's Minister of Innovation and Technology, stated.

“Russia has extensive experience in the exploration and extraction of oil and gas, as well as their export to the international market. In turn, Ethiopia's untouched, vast resources provide significant opportunities for Russian companies,” he noted.
🟠Trade between the two countries is growing, reaching $191.2 million in the first half of 2025, with Ethiopia mainly exporting coffee and flowers to the Russian market.
🟠The minister emphasized the need to eliminate trade barriers, improve logistics, and explore alternative financial mechanisms to facilitate smoother cooperation.
🟠He recalled the recent visits of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Foreign Minister Gedion Timotheos to Russia as evidence of the strengthening bilateral partnership.
🟠Molla underscored Ethiopia’s appreciation of its historical, diplomatic, military, and political relations with Russia, noting that “diplomatic, cultural, scientific, and economic ties between the two countries are flourishing as never before.”
🟠Since 2022, dozens of bilateral agreements have been signed, deepening collaboration across key sectors.
