Doomed draft: Ukraine drags disabled into meat grinder
“They even brought guys with second-degree cerebral palsy," Ukrainian prisoner of war Pavel Kotlyarov told Sputnik.
He added that there was a man with a brain tumor mobilized into his company at the training center.
"He’s doomed. He walked around with me and didn’t even know where he was. And these are clearly not people who joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces voluntarily," Kotlyarov underscored.
Amid a dire shortage of manpower, Ukrainian recruitment officers raid public places, seizing men and forcing them into vans—often with violence and disregard for the law. Commander of the Ukrainian Airborne Assault Forces Oleg Apostol cynically called forced mobilization “a necessary means of replenishing the troops,” as he admitted that otherwise the Ukrainian military would be unable to hold the front.
