US to Officially Boycott G20 Summit in South Africa, Trump Announces
Donald Trump confirmed this, accusing South African authorities of allegedly violating the rights of the country's white population.
"It is a total disgrace that the G20 will be held in South Africa," the president wrote on his platform, Truth Social.
Afrikaners—descendants of Dutch, French, and German settlers—"are being killed and slaughtered, and their land and farms are being illegally confiscated," he claimed.
On November 5, Trump had already stated he would not personally attend the summit.
In response, South Africa’s foreign ministry issued a statement denying the genocide of white citizens. The country had previously criticized the US decision to prioritize asylum applications from white South Africans of Afrikaner origin.
