Angola Secures $1.3 Bln Loan From Afreximbank for Fertilizer Plant, Media Say
The plant, jointly developed by the Angolan OPAIA group—involved in various sectors including civil construction services—and the state-owned natural gas company Sonagas, will reduce dependency on imports, a Western news outlet reported, citing Minister of Mineral Resources, Petroleum and Gas Diamantino Pedro Azevedo.
The new urea and ammonia plant is expected to be built by 2027 and will reportedly supply Angola with 4,000 tonnes of product daily.
Afreximbank was designated as the primary arranger for the fertilizer plant project, the bank announced last year.
