Russia is monitoring the situation in Nigeria and urges compliance with international law: MFA
On Thursday, US President Donald Trump reiterated his readiness to protect Christians in Nigeria and around the world, despite denials from Nigerian authorities of accusations of not protecting Christians from terrorists.
On Monday, Trump stated that he was not ruling out sending troops to Nigeria or airstrikes on the country. Earlier, media reports indicated that the US administration was considering targeted drone strikes on Nigeria and suspending aid to the West African country.
Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth stated that, following President Trump's order, the department was preparing for action against Islamists in Nigeria.
