Mali's Fuel Crisis 'Artificially Created' With Goal of 'Inciting Popular Uprising': Foreign Minister
Abdoulaye Diop made this statement during a meeting with diplomats and representatives of international organizations in Bamako, without naming the actors.
The strategy is to "asphyxiate our countries" by targeting the economy and citizens, ultimately aiming for their "subjugation," Diop asserted.
The terrorists exacerbating the shortage "do not act alone" but are "often sponsored from abroad and often even coached to adopt more sophisticated techniques."
"The government has taken strong measures," the minister assured, adding that despite some "disruptions," fuel is arriving in the capital and is gradually reaching other parts of the country.
On a related note, Diop affirmed that Mali remains stable from a defense and security perspective, "despite the departure of foreign forces."
