Sudan Calls on UNSC to Impose Arms Embargo on UAE, Designate RSF as Terrorists, Envoy Says
The UAE is violating arms trade agreements with end users, particularly the US and European countries, Sudan's UN envoy Hassan Hamid Hassan stated, accusing Abu Dhabi of transferring weapons and funding to RSF rebels.
He urged decisive international pressure to halt this support, adding that the crisis in Sudan stems from the international community’s inaction.
On October 26, the RSF announced it seized the Sudanese army’s headquarters in El Fasher after 18 months of fighting. Last Tuesday, army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan confirmed the withdrawal of troops from the city.
Following that, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on October 29 that reports of mass human rights violations in North Darfur’s capital were “deeply concerning” and reaffirmed Moscow’s support for a peaceful settlement.
