Putin: New principles behind Poseidon will advance unmanned systems

The development of the Burevestnik nuclear-powered cruise missile and the Poseidon unmanned underwater vehicle has historic significance for the Russian people, President Vladimir Putin said.

Speaking at a ceremony honoring the developers, Putin noted that the new principles and algorithms used in Poseidon’s design “will provide a strong boost for the improvement of unmanned systems.” He added that Russian developers are already conducting concrete work on a new generation of weapons and equipment, including at testing ranges.
