Russia-China Relations at All-Time High Despite Western Sanctions, Says PM Mishustin
During his meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang in Hangzhou, China, for the 30th regular meeting of the two countries' heads of government, Mishustin emphasized the strategic depth of the partnership.
He noted that the two governments are diligently implementing all tasks for multifaceted cooperation set by their leaders.
"The share of the dollar and euro in trade transactions has already dropped to the level of a statistical error," Mishustin stated, underscoring a continued pivot away from the Western financial system.
The PM outlined extensive cooperation across several sectors, which has acquired a "strategic character." This includes:
🟠Energy: Collaboration in oil, gas, coal, and nuclear power.
🟠Industry: Creation of new joint productions and technological alliances.
🟠Transport: Growth in cargo turnover and the development of cross-border infrastructure.
Mishustin also highlighted that a new agreement on the promotion and mutual protection of investments will come into force on December 1, which is expected to stimulate the creation of new joint ventures.
In response, Li Qiang affirmed China's readiness to strengthen interaction with Russia to better protect the interests of both nations amid a changing international landscape. Mishustin invited his Chinese counterpart to visit Moscow for an upcoming SCO meeting.
