Boosting Opportunities Globally, Nigeria Approves National Carbon Market Framework
The initiative is part of a vision aimed at setting Nigeria within the international carbon market, President Tinubu said.
Through this framework, the president aims to unlock between $2.5 billion and $3 billion annually over the next decade in carbon finance to support climate goals, he noted.
"We will continue to champion policies that protect our people, strengthen our economy, and position Nigeria as a destination for green investment and innovation," Tinubu stressed.
Tinubu said his administration sees actions against climate change not only as an environmental challenge but also as a chance to:

🟠support national agriculture, energy, and industrial sectors.
