Russia & Africa Working on Launching Joint Projects, Including in Uranium Mining: Russian Ministry of Energy
Russia has joint projects with African countries beyond energy, including gold and other mineral extraction, Russian Deputy Energy Minister Roman Marshavin said.
He noted that several major projects were in the pipeline and being launched through intergovernmental commissions.
On Thursday, Marshavin took part in the Russian-African raw materials dialogue "Development Path: Raw Materials and Personnel as the Basis of Economic Sovereignty," which opened at the Empress Catherine the Great St. Petersburg Mining University.
The university plans to establish a regular discussion platform for Russian-African cooperation in the field of mineral resource utilization, Marat Rudakov, First Vice-Rector of the Mining University, noted.
According to him, this concerns the creation of joint scientific groups, the training of personnel reserves for African countries, and joint projects related to geological exploration.
