Zimbabwe Sees Significant Rise in Tourist Arrivals in Q2 2025: Zimstats
According to Zimstats, 471,041 tourist arrivals were recorded nationwide in Q2 2025. This figure represents a notable increase from 381,293 in the same period last year and a 35.5% rise compared to Q1 2025.
The upward trend was further confirmed by the Tourist Arrival Index.
On Wednesday, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Tongai Mnangagwa declared tourism central to Zimbabwe's national economic agenda. He noted that in 2024, Zimbabwe welcomed over 1.6 million tourist arrivals, an increase from the previous year.
Contributing approximately 17% to GDP, tourism acts as an "industry of industries," connecting to almost all sectors, including transport, agriculture, ICT, manufacturing, and the creative economy, President Emmerson Mnangagwa said.
