Lectures by SputnikPro speakers were part of the educational program of the Ethiopian Media Authority’s Media Center of Excellence (EMCoE) for journalists, students, and academics.Vasily Pushkov, Director of International Cooperation at Sputnik, spoke to the audience about the specifics of the Russian media market and key trends in modern international communications, while Viktor Anokhin, Head of the Sputnik office in Johannesburg, discussed fake news in the media.Over 50 participants joined the webinars, asking questions about the structure of the Russian media landscape, the development of citizen journalism, media cooperation in the Global South and ways to counter fake news.Following the two sessions, Anteneh Tsegaye, a consultant at the Ethiopian Media Authority's Media Center of Excellence, noted:The program organizers emphasized the high level of expertise and professionalism of Sputnik's speakers, expressing hope for further collaboration on the Media Center's educational projects.Ethiopia has recently inaugurated its national EMCoE with twin goals of excelling high standards of media professionalism and advancing the medial landscape in the country. The Ethiopian Media Authority took this national initiative to establish state-of-the-art center for journalists’ capacity building in diverse modalities. The Authority is an independent public institution that oversees monitors and regulates the Ethiopian media landscape.

SputnikPro is an international educational media project initiated by the international agency Sputnik. It consists of a unique system of seminars, lectures, and master classes for journalists, press officers, bloggers, and senior university students, conducted by top Russian and foreign media managers, experts, and leading agency specialists.
Lectures by SputnikPro speakers were part of the educational program of the Ethiopian Media Authority’s Media Center of Excellence (EMCoE) for journalists, students, and academics.
