Burevestnik Launch Testifies to Russia’s Cutting-Edge Military Technology, Says Nigerian Professor
The intended audience has heard "loud and clear" the message behind Russia's advanced military-technical capabilities in defense and global security projection, Prof. Abubakar Sadeeque Abba, a political economy expert from the University of Abuja, told Sputnik Africa.
"This launch did not come as a surprise because Russia has been at the forefront of not only acquiring, but also masterminding the acquiring of nuclear weapons globally," he said.
The move should force a Western reassessment of the conflict in Ukraine, the professor argued. He described Ukraine as a "game plan" of the West aimed at forcing Russia to its knees to control its resources.
"If America and the Western world are wise... [they should] now ask Ukraine to withdraw from the eastern border," Abba warned, suggesting otherwise the situation could escalate dangerously.
🪖 The expert described the dynamic as an "inverse proportional formula," where increased Western aid to Ukraine would be met with a tougher Russian response.
The analysis follows President Putin's announcement of the Burevestnik test, which he described as a breakthrough with a nuclear reactor 1,000 times smaller than a submarine's but with comparable power.
